On Saturday 12th May, Shire Leasing’s twin employees, Hayleigh Robinson & Daniel Barber, will be participating in what is well known as the World’s Toughest Obstacle Course, Tough Mudder.
Tough Mudder comprises a 5 mile military style obstacle course. This includes a number of different challenges such as swimming through cold and muddy water, climbing 10 foot walls and crawling through thick mud with barbed wire inches above your head!
The duo are taking on the challenge to fundraise for local football club Gillway Boys, a team that Daniel manages. He said, “With all the money that is generated in football, very little of it actually makes its way down to the grassroots level. This ultimately means people like myself, along with other team coaches, have to dig into our own pockets or try and fundraise to buy new equipment for the team when it is required.
The funds we raise from this will be put towards new kits, football nets, footballs and other equipment for our training sessions, which will see us through this season and hopefully next season too!”
